Looking down and seeing three of a kind as your starting hand is one of the best feelings in poker. If there are a lot of highs are there, you should think about disguising your hand for a street or two, to confuse your opponents if you thin it'll draw more money from them.

If you have A's, K's or Q's your opponents will more then likely put you on a big pair and raise when they get two pair or a pair that's higher then your door card. Obviously this works in your favor because your plan was to get as much money in the pot as possible. If you have A's, you can pretend to be going low by checking if miss on fourth street. This would make people going high think that you missed and bet into,

then you can re-raise. Unless they are really good, they would mostly likely call you to the river.

If you have something between 8's and J's, it would be wise to start off slow so you can trap some high hands. For example, if a player that has a pair of Q's bets and you re-raise them, they might think that you have a better hand and fold on a later street. Now, if the player bets and you just call, the player would just put you on a smaller pair.

If you have trips that are 7's or lower, then you have a great have that can outplay a lot of players. You could pretend that you are going low and knock out the low players, then beat the high hand. A great situation is when you are against two high hands and no lows. This is because if your hand appear to develop a low, you can jam the pot and your opponents wouldn't think twice about it.

Having three of a kind to start out with is a hand to die for, but don't get to excited about it. When you have it, think about what your opponents have and plan on how you're going to get the most money out of them.
